It's unfortunate that the higher education system as a whole is becoming too much of a business, while neglecting the fundamental principle of education: to serve the public. Nevertheless, I also believe that competition drives technology and innovation. I suppose if competition is kept at a healthy standard, the business side of the university wouldn't be driven too much out of control.
